River divide
The Voronezh River separates the older town from the industrial eastern bank. Its curving course and bridges form the central axis around which the whole poster is organised.

Lipetsk Map Poster & Print
Lipetsk sits on the Voronezh River in central Russia, and its layout is defined by two very different banks. The historic centre rises on the western side, where streets climb from the water to higher ground, while the eastern bank is dominated by the Novolipetsk steelworks, one of the largest in the country, spreading its long workshops and rail yards across a wide area.
The city's industrial roots go back to the early eighteenth century, when ironworks were established here under Peter the Great. Lipetsk later developed as a spa town thanks to its mineral springs, and the green spaces of the old resort area survive near the centre. Beyond them, newer residential districts extend in broad Soviet-era blocks.
A Lipetsk map poster makes the contrast between these zones easy to read. The fine grid of the old centre, the long parallel lines of the steelworks and the river curving between them are all rendered in the same quiet line work, so industry and history sit together on the page without competing.

The steelworks
The Novolipetsk plant covers a huge area east of the river. Seen from above, its halls, sidings and access roads create a dense geometric field unlike anything else on the map.
Spa-era parks
Near the centre, the parks of the former resort area break up the street grid with open space, a reminder of the city's history as a place to take the waters.

Anlam taşıyan bir harita
Lipetsk is a working city with a long memory, and its map shows both sides honestly. People who grew up here, or whose families worked at the plant, often find the plan more evocative than any skyline photograph.
