Maai Mahiu Map Poster & Print
Maai Mahiu lies on the floor of Kenya's Great Rift Valley, just below the steep eastern escarpment, in Nakuru County. From above, the town forms around a junction of major roads, with a compact commercial centre and scattered homes and farms spreading across the wide, open land of the valley.
The name is often translated as hot water, a reference to the region's geothermal activity. The dramatic drop from the highlands to the valley floor is close by, and the road down the escarpment is known for its sweeping views. On the map, the town appears as a small, dense node surrounded by open space.
A Maai Mahiu map poster shows the scale of the Rift Valley around a modest town. The roads converge in the centre and then run out across the plain, while the escarpment's contour-hugging roads add curving lines to one side. It is a map of movement and wide landscapes.

Escarpment descent
To the east, roads wind down the steep wall of the Rift Valley, forming curving lines that contrast with the straight routes on the valley floor.
Open valley floor
Beyond the town, farms and tracks spread across the broad valley, leaving large open areas that give the map a sense of distance.
