Cantonment grid
Straight, broad roads and spacious blocks give the cantonment an orderly geometry that stands out clearly against the more crowded street pattern of the neighbouring town.

Mamun Map Poster & Print
Mamun lies in the far north of Punjab, next to Pathankot, near the point where Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir come together. The land here begins to rise out of the flat plains, and the map records that change: a regular pattern of roads to the south, and broken, rising ground to the north.
The town is best known for Mamun Cantonment, one of the largest military cantonments in Asia. Cantonments tend to have a distinctive plan, with wide, straight roads, generous open grounds and blocks set well apart, and from above this gives Mamun a far more spacious and ordered look than the dense bazaar towns of the surrounding district.
A Mamun map poster suits that disciplined layout well. Long avenues and parade grounds read as clean geometry, the edges of Pathankot add a denser texture, and the approach of the hills and stream beds adds a looser line at the margins. For families with ties to the army, the pattern is instantly familiar.

Foothill edge
To the north, the ground begins to lift toward the Himalayas, and the map loosens into irregular tracks and stream beds as the plains give way to hills.
Three-state corner
Mamun sits close to where Punjab meets Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, a crossroads position reflected in the roads and rail lines converging on Pathankot.
