The Ob floodplain
Channels, oxbows and marshes of one of Siberia's great rivers surround the town. They give the poster a scattered border of water shapes that contrasts with the planned blocks.

Megion Map Poster & Print
Megion stands near the Ob in the Khanty-Mansi region, a short way west of Nizhnevartovsk. It grew from a small settlement after oil was found nearby in the early 1960s, and its map shows that origin clearly. Regular Soviet-era microdistricts, wide streets and housing blocks sit in orderly groups, with none of the tangled lanes of an older town.
Around the town, the landscape is almost all water and forest. Oxbow lakes, side channels of the Ob and wide wetlands spread in every direction. On a map they appear as irregular pale shapes pressing against the straight edges of the built-up area, while roads run out in long, straight lines toward the surrounding oilfields.
A Megion map poster works because of that contrast: a disciplined street plan set against the loose, organic forms of the Siberian floodplain. It shows a place built for a purpose in difficult country. For people who worked or grew up there, the shape is recognisable at once, even from across the room.

Planned microdistricts
Housing sits in numbered blocks with broad avenues between them. It is a legible pattern typical of towns founded for the oil industry during the Soviet era.
Roads into the fields
Long, straight roads leave town toward the oilfields and neighbouring Nizhnevartovsk. They cross the wetlands like ruled lines on a sheet of paper.

Neden Megion
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
People often move to Megion for work and remember it long after they leave. A map of its blocks and waterways is a quiet reminder of years spent in the north, of long winters, and of a town built almost from scratch.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be edited, so you can add a family name or the year you arrived. Blueprint fits the planned layout and Noir suits the northern winter. Classic black & white, Paper and Sand are also available.
