Nkowakowa Map Poster & Print
Nkowakowa lies in Limpopo province in northeastern South Africa, in the warm, green lowveld near the town of Tzaneen. From above, it is a large residential township of closely spaced streets and plots, organised in sections and extending across gently rolling ground. Farmland, including the subtropical fruit plantations the region is known for, and patches of bush surround it.
The township developed in the second half of the twentieth century, and its layout reflects the planned residential grids of that period, with main roads dividing neighbourhoods of smaller streets. It is part of the wider Tzaneen area, a region known for citrus, avocados and other subtropical crops, with the Drakensberg escarpment rising to the west.
A Nkowakowa map poster shows the fine, repeating texture of the township's streets against the looser shapes of farmland and bush. It has a quiet rhythm that suits black and white well. It suits people who grew up in Nkowakowa or have family there, and gives the place a picture of its own rather than a footnote to Tzaneen.

Main arterial roads
A few larger roads divide the township into sections and connect it to Tzaneen and the surrounding region, giving the poster its main structure.
Lowveld surroundings
Plantations, fields and bush surround the built-up area, framing the township with softer, irregular shapes at the edges of the poster.
