Place des Cocotiers
A long green rectangle in the middle of the downtown grid. It gives the centre a clear axis and is one of the easiest landmarks to find on the poster.

Nouméa Map Poster & Print
Nouméa occupies a ragged peninsula on the southwest coast of Grande Terre, the main island of New Caledonia. Few capitals have a coastline this broken up. On the map the land splits into a run of bays and headlands, from the port basins on the western side to the beaches of Baie des Citrons and Anse Vata facing south, with small hills rising between the inlets.
The old centre is a regular grid laid out in the nineteenth century between the harbour and the slopes above it, anchored by the Place des Cocotiers, a long rectangular square planted with trees. Around this core the street pattern becomes looser and more organic, winding around high points such as Ouen Toro and filling each valley that runs down to the water.
Offshore lies one of the largest lagoons in the world, enclosed by a barrier reef and inscribed by UNESCO in 2008 together with other lagoons of New Caledonia. On the Tina peninsula to the northeast, the Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre by Renzo Piano stands among the trees. A Nouméa map poster turns all of this into a single intricate outline of land, water and street.

Southern beach bays
Baie des Citrons and Anse Vata curve side by side along the southern shore, two smooth arcs of coastline separated by a small rocky headland.
Ouen Toro hill
A rounded hill near the southern tip of the peninsula, where roads loop around the slope instead of crossing it, leaving a calm open patch in the street network.

Neden Nouméa
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
Many people come to Nouméa for work, a posting or a long stay and never quite leave it behind. The indented coast makes a striking graphic, detailed enough to study up close and simple enough to read from across a room.
Give the poster your own title, a subtitle with the years you lived there, and keep or adjust the coordinates line. Pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint or Sand, as a digital file or a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
