Unbroken coastline
The shore curves around the island with few inlets and no sheltered harbour, so the outline reads almost as one continuous stroke against the surrounding Pacific.

Pinta Island Map Poster & Print
Pinta sits alone near the northern edge of the Galápagos archipelago, just north of the equator. From above it reads as one compact volcanic mass, slightly longer than it is wide. Its coastline is fairly smooth, with no deep harbours and no long peninsulas. There are no towns and no road network, so the island's outline carries the whole drawing.
Pinta is best known as the home of Lonesome George, the last known giant tortoise of the Pinta lineage. He was taken off the island in 1972 and lived at the Charles Darwin Research Station until he died in 2012. Since then Pinta has been part of a long restoration effort, with other tortoises brought in to graze its slopes and help restore its vegetation.
A Pinta Island map poster is mostly ocean and outline. It is a single closed shape set against empty sea, with the island's lava-built bulk suggested only by its edge. The design is spare because the place is spare: an uninhabited protected island where the coastline is the one line worth drawing.

Volcanic mass
Pinta is the exposed top of a shield volcano, and its compact, slightly elongated shape comes from lava flows that built the island up from the seabed.
Open sea on all sides
On the map Pinta stands away from the central Galápagos islands, surrounded by water that fills most of the frame and emphasises how isolated it is.

Neden Pinta Island
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
Pinta suits people who care about conservation, evolution and the Galápagos story. A small dark island on a wide field of white is a restrained way to mark a trip to the archipelago or an interest in the work that followed Lonesome George.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, so the print can record an expedition date or a quiet reference. It comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
