Polewali Map Poster & Print
Polewali is the main town of Polewali Mandar Regency in West Sulawesi, Indonesia, and it sits on the shore of a wide bay on the western coast of the island. From above, the town follows the coastline: a long, narrow band of streets between the sea and the rising ground inland, with the main road running parallel to the shore.
The coast here is low and irregular, with fishponds, small river mouths and mangrove edges breaking the line between land and water. Inland, the terrain climbs toward the hills of the Sulawesi interior, and the street pattern thins into scattered villages, plantations and rice fields. The area is the homeland of the Mandar people, known for their seafaring traditions.
A Polewali map poster is defined by the meeting of land and sea: the smooth curve of the bay, the town stretched along it and the quieter countryside behind. It is a simple composition with a strong horizon, well suited to minimalist styles and to anyone with ties to this stretch of the Sulawesi coast.

Coastal road
The main road runs close to the shore through the town, a continuous line along which much of the settlement, its markets and public buildings are arranged.
Fishpond edge
Along parts of the coast, fishponds and inlets break the shoreline into small geometric shapes, a detailed pattern where land and water meet.
