Above the town stands Holcombe Hill, crowned by the Peel Monument, a stone tower built in memory of Sir Robert Peel. Ramsbottom is also a stop on the East Lancashire Railway, a heritage line with steam trains running along the valley between Bury and Rawtenstall.
