Riihimäki Map Poster & Print
Riihimäki grew up around a railway junction in southern Finland, where the main line from Helsinki to Tampere meets the line heading east toward Lahti and beyond. On a map, the tracks are the defining feature: wide bands of rails and yards cutting through the town, with the central streets arranged in a compact grid close to the station.
The town became known for glass. The Riihimäki glassworks operated here for most of the twentieth century, and the Finnish Glass Museum now occupies part of the old factory. Around the centre, residential districts spread into pine forest, with small lakes and wooded areas shaping their edges.
A Riihimäki map poster shows how a railway can create a town. The rail lines and yards run through the frame as strong, clean strokes, the central grid gathers beside them, and forest and water soften the outer districts. In black and white, it is a precise, graphic image of a very Finnish kind of place.

Central grid
Near the station, the town centre follows a compact grid of streets, a clear and orderly pattern set against the curves of the outer districts.
Forest and lakes
Pine forest and small lakes surround the residential areas, giving the edges of the map a softer, organic texture typical of southern Finland.

Anlam taşıyan bir harita
Riihimäki is a place many people pass through, but for those who live there or grew up there, it is home: station, streets, forest paths. A map of the junction town suits anyone with a feeling for rail and for Finnish landscape.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a year or a family name, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the railway geometry especially well.
