Sanford Map Poster & Print
Sanford sits on the southern edge of Lake Monroe, a broad, rounded lake formed by the St. Johns River. From above, the shoreline is the city's defining line: a smooth curve of water to the north, with the historic downtown pressed against it and a regular street grid running south from the waterfront toward newer suburbs and the airport.
The older blocks near the lake are small and orderly, laid out in the late nineteenth century when steamboats on the St. Johns connected the town to Jacksonville. Further out, the grid loosens into cul-de-sacs, retention ponds and the long runways of Orlando Sanford International Airport. The city was once known as the Celery City, a reminder of the farmland that still frames it on older maps.
A Sanford map poster shows these layers at once: the lake's pale open surface, the tight downtown along the Riverwalk, the loose suburban pattern beyond and the wetlands of the river to the west. It is a quiet Central Florida composition, drawn in fine black lines on white.

Historic downtown grid
Compact rectangular blocks near the lake mark the oldest part of town, denser and more regular than the neighbourhoods that spread south from it.
Airport and rail
Long runways to the east and the rail line that carries the Auto Train to its southern terminus give the map strong straight strokes against the curving shore.
