Planned plot grids
Residential areas are laid out in regular rectangular blocks. Where subdivisions meet at different angles, the grids shift slightly and form a subtle patchwork across the poster.

Sangarébougou Map Poster & Print
Sangarébougou is a commune in Mali's Koulikoro region, on the northeastern edge of Bamako. It was once a village outside the capital, but as Bamako expanded it became part of the wider urban area, drawing families looking for land and housing within reach of the city. It is mainly residential, with markets, schools and mosques serving the newer neighbourhoods.
On a map, Sangarébougou shows the typical pattern of recent growth around Bamako. Plots are laid out in rectangular grids, sometimes at slightly different angles where separate subdivisions meet. Main roads link it with central Bamako, and undeveloped land at the edges hints at where the next streets will go. The result is orderly yet unfinished, a map still being drawn.
A Sangarébougou map poster speaks to people who have built homes here, often in recent years, and to relatives in Mali and abroad who want to see where the family lives now. In black and white, the gridded blocks form a clean, graphic image that records the neighbourhood at one moment in its growth.

Links to Bamako
Main roads lead southwest toward central Bamako. They are the strongest lines on the map and a reminder of how closely daily life here is tied to the capital.
Growing edges
At the edges, streets give way to open ground and sparse tracks, showing where the commune is still spreading into the surrounding countryside.
