São Bento do Sul Map Poster & Print
São Bento do Sul lies on the high plateau in northern Santa Catarina, where the cooler climate and rolling, forested terrain make it feel different from the coast below. On a map, the town follows valleys and ridges. Streets wind with the land, and neighbourhoods are spread out in clusters separated by green hillsides rather than joined in one grid.
The town was founded in 1873 by European immigrants, many from German-speaking regions and Central Europe. Their influence still shows in architecture and local traditions. São Bento do Sul became one of Brazil's leading centres of furniture making, and workshops and factories stand throughout its districts. A railway line climbs across the plateau and passes through the area.
A São Bento do Sul map poster captures this spread-out, organic form. The centre is a denser knot of streets around the main church and square. From there, roads follow streams and hillsides outward, while forest and pastures fill the gaps between them.

Town centre
Around the main square and church, the streets tighten into a denser, more regular pattern. It is the clearest focal point on the map.
Green hillsides
Forested hills and pastures between the neighbourhoods leave wide open areas. They soften the design and reflect the town's plateau setting.
