Lagoa Mundaú
The lagoon fills much of the frame. Its broad surface and ragged edges contrast with the dense street pattern and give the poster a strong, simple balance.

Satuba Map Poster & Print
Satuba belongs to the metropolitan area of Maceió, the capital of Alagoas. It sits on the edge of Lagoa Mundaú, one of the large lagoons that shape this stretch of Brazil's northeast coast. On a map the lagoon dominates, a broad body of water with an irregular, marshy shoreline, while the town's streets gather along its banks and push inland.
Behind the waterfront the ground rises toward the coastal tablelands, and roads bend to follow the change in height. Channels and mangrove edges break up the lagoon's outline, so the water side of the map is detailed even where there are no streets at all. Main roads link the town with Maceió and with the neighbouring municipalities around the lagoon.
A Satuba map poster captures that meeting of town and lagoon in a single frame. In black and white, the water becomes a calm, solid area against the finer texture of the streets, and the shoreline becomes the most expressive line in the drawing. Anyone from the lagoon towns will recognise this view of home at once.

Shoreline streets
The streets closest to the water follow the curve of the bank, then straighten as they move inland, showing how the town grew outward from the lagoon.
Link to Maceió
The roads leaving Satuba for the capital show how closely the town is tied to the wider metropolitan area around the lagoon system.
