Schwerin Map Poster & Print
Schwerin, the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is surrounded by lakes, and they define its map. The largest, the Schweriner See, stretches along the city's eastern side, while smaller lakes such as the Pfaffenteich and the Ostorfer See lie within or close to the centre. Streets bend around shorelines, and whole districts take their shape from the water between them.
Schwerin Castle stands on an island between the Schweriner See and the Burgsee, linked to the town by bridges and surrounded by formal gardens. In 2024 the former ducal residence and its surroundings were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The old town lies just to the northwest, a compact tangle of medieval streets around the cathedral and the market.
A Schwerin map poster turns all of this into an unusually balanced composition. Irregular lake shapes open large pale areas on the page, and the old town forms a dense core between them. The castle island sits like a small emblem at the water's edge. Few German cities offer such a clear dialogue between architecture and landscape on a map.

Pfaffenteich
This rectangular lake lies inside the city centre, with streets running along all its sides. It is a neat block of water that anchors the old town's layout.
Schweriner See
One of Germany's larger lakes stretches along the eastern side of the city. Its long, broad expanse fills a large part of the frame and gives the poster its sense of scale.
