Johor Strait shore
The northern coastline crosses the poster as a clean line of water, with the Johor shore across the strait. It gives the design a strong edge and plenty of open space.

Sembawang Estate Map Poster & Print
Sembawang lies on the northern coast of Singapore, facing Malaysia across the Johor Strait. On a map the coastline is its strongest feature: a gently curving shore with shipyard basins and a waterfront park. Inland, the new-town housing estates form loops of roads and clustered blocks around Sembawang MRT station on the North–South Line.
For much of the twentieth century the area was dominated by the British naval base built between the wars. Tree-lined roads and black-and-white colonial houses from that period still survive nearby, and part of the base later became a commercial shipyard. Sembawang Hot Spring Park holds the only natural hot spring on Singapore's main island.
A Sembawang Estate map poster shows the contrast between old and new: the curving estate roads and clustered blocks of public housing, the older street pattern of the former base, and the broad sweep of the strait along the top of the frame. It suits residents, former servicemen and anyone who knows the area from walks along the shore.

Sembawang Park
This waterfront park on the northern shore has one of the island's few natural beaches. On the map it is a patch of open ground beside the coast.
Housing estate loops
The newer estates are built around curving roads and clustered blocks of flats. The looped, cell-like patterns are typical of Singapore's planned new towns.
