Stains Map Poster & Print
Stains is a commune in Seine-Saint-Denis, just north of Saint-Denis in the inner suburbs of Paris. It is a thoroughly urban place. From above, it is a tightly packed mix of older streets, large housing estates, small houses with gardens and green spaces, with neighbouring communes on every side.
The most distinctive part of the map is the Cité-jardin, a garden city built in the 1920s and 1930s to give workers decent housing. Its streets curve gently around small squares and shared greens, and the brick houses are grouped in careful clusters. The pattern stands out clearly against the straighter blocks around it.
Next to the town, the Parc départemental Georges-Valbon, still often called the Parc de La Courneuve, runs along part of its edge with lawns, woods and lakes. A Stains map poster brings these layers together, from the garden city to the post-war estates, and shows a suburb far more varied than its reputation suggests.

Housing estates
Large post-war residential blocks appear as bold geometric shapes. They contrast with the finer grain of the older streets and individual houses around them.
Parkland edge
The Parc Georges-Valbon, one of the largest parks in the Paris region, adds a broad open area of paths and lakes at the edge of town.

Anlam taşıyan bir harita
For many people, Stains is where their family first settled in France, or where they grew up between the garden city and the estates. A map of it is a straightforward, dignified way to honour that.
