Louhajang river
The small river winds through town, and the streets bend with its course, giving the centre a looser, more organic pattern than a planned grid.

Tangail Map Poster & Print
Tangail stands on the low, fertile plain of central Bangladesh, north-west of Dhaka and east of the Jamuna. The town grew along the Louhajang river, and on the map its streets follow that curving channel rather than any strict plan. Lanes branch off into neighbourhoods set among ponds, paddy fields and small watercourses.
Seen from further out, the district's shape is defined by water. The broad, braided Jamuna lies to the west, crossed by a long road-and-rail bridge that begins within the district, while the higher, wooded ground of the Madhupur tract rises to the north. The town sits between the two, a dense knot in a landscape of green and water.
Tangail is known across the country for the handloom saris woven in its villages and for the chomchom sweets of Porabari. A Tangail map poster captures the town as it sits on the floodplain: a close weave of streets and water, bending with the river, and easy to recognise for anyone who has lived there or returns for the holidays.

Ponds and channels
Across the outskirts, dozens of ponds and narrow watercourses break up the land, creating a delicate pattern of small shapes around the built-up area.
Road to the Jamuna
Major routes run west across the plain towards the Jamuna crossing, drawing long, straight lines through farmland that connect Tangail with the north-west of the country.

Neden Tangail
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
Tangail is a place many people leave for Dhaka or abroad and still call home. A map of its streets and waterways is a calm way to keep that connection in view, and it works well alongside family photographs or a piece of Tangail weaving.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a neighbourhood, a wedding date or a family name. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the files or order a matte print shipped from a nearby partner.
