Valley alignment
The built-up area follows the valley floor, where the flat land is. This gives the town an elongated shape, with the densest blocks along the lowest ground.

Tuxiang Map Poster & Print
Tuxiang is in the eastern part of Chongqing municipality, in the rugged country toward the border with Hubei. This region is defined by steep ridges, deep valleys and terraced hillsides, and towns here usually follow the valley floors and the roads that wind between them. On a map, that tends to produce long, narrow settlements shaped by terrain rather than by a planned grid.
Detailed public information about the town is limited, so the map itself is the best introduction: the direction of the valley, the switchbacks of approach roads, and the close-packed blocks wherever the ground is flat enough to build on. Eastern Chongqing is known for its karst mountains and river gorges, and the surrounding terrain reflects that dramatic setting.
A Tuxiang map poster is about how a town fits into mountains. Streets compress where the valley narrows and loosen where it widens, while roads climb away in tight curves. For people with family roots in the area, it is a precise and personal image of a place that rarely appears on printed maps.

Winding approach roads
Roads leading into town wind and switch back as they climb the slopes. On the map their curves stand out against the straighter streets of the centre.
Terraced hillsides
The slopes around the town are shaped by farming terraces and forest. They form the open space around the streets and hint at the steepness of the land.
