Wote Map Poster & Print
Wote is the administrative centre of Makueni County, in the semi-arid country south-east of Nairobi. From above, the town is compact: a small core of streets where the main roads meet, with buildings thinning quickly into scattered plots and farmland. On paper, the pattern reads as a short, dense knot with long lines reaching out from it in several directions.
The land around Wote is mostly dry, with seasonal watercourses that run full only after the rains. On a map these appear as fine, wandering lines that cut across the rural grid of tracks and field boundaries. Because the town is small, those surrounding lines take up most of the frame, which gives the poster a sparse, open composition with plenty of white space.
A Wote map poster suits a town that grew as a county seat rather than as a large city. Its layout reflects that role: offices, markets and roads clustered together, then open country in every direction. In black and white, the contrast between that small grid and the wide rural network around it becomes the main subject of the print.

Roads into the countryside
Several routes leave the town and stretch across the frame, linking Wote to surrounding villages and the wider road network of Makueni County.
Seasonal watercourses
Thin, winding lines of dry riverbeds cross the land around the town, a quiet detail typical of the semi-arid landscape of eastern Kenya.
