Chodzież lies in the north of Greater Poland, in a landscape shaped by the last ice age. That history left behind lakes, hills and patches of forest. On a map, the town is defined by water. The town is best known for porcelain. The factory founded here in the nineteenth century made Chodzież one of the recognised names in Polish tableware. The wooded hills to the south are unusually steep for this part of the country and are used for walking and, in winter, for skiing.
