Dereham, often called East Dereham, sits near the geographic centre of Norfolk. The A47 passes to the south as a bypass, drawing a clean curve along one edge of the town.
At the heart of the old town stands the church of St Nicholas, notable for a bell tower that stands apart from the main building.
