Guabiruba Map Poster & Print
Guabiruba lies in the Itajaí valley region of Santa Catarina, next to the city of Brusque. The town is set among forested hills, and its roads follow the valleys and streams that run between them. On the map, the settlement appears as a series of linear clusters along these routes rather than a single compact centre.
The area was settled by immigrants from the Baden region of Germany in the nineteenth century, and that heritage remains strong. Guabiruba is particularly known for the Pelznickel, a figure from German Christmas tradition covered in moss and plant material, whose annual celebration has become a symbol of the town.
A Guabiruba map poster reflects a landscape where settlement follows water and terrain. Roads wind along valley floors, homes line them in narrow bands, and green slopes fill the spaces between. The result is an organic, flowing composition quite different from a grid town, calm and detailed in black and white.

Link to Brusque
The town adjoins Brusque, and the roads between them form a continuous line of settlement across one edge of the poster.
Forested hills
Wooded slopes separate the valleys, shown as open space that gives the composition breathing room between strands of streets.

Guabiruba has a strong sense of identity, and people from the town, or those descended from its German settlers, often want to keep it close. A map of its valleys is a quiet expression of that belonging.
