The long main street
The central avenue is wide enough to read as a band rather than a line on the map. It gives the town an instantly recognisable spine running roughly north to south.

Hoogstraten Map Poster & Print
Hoogstraten sits in the far north of Antwerp province, only a few kilometres from the Netherlands. From above, the town is built around one unusually wide main street that runs in a long, straight line, with the church and the old core set along it. Side streets branch off at intervals. Beyond them the built area thins quickly into fields, glasshouses and scattered farmsteads.
The landmark that anchors the map is the Church of Saint Catherine, whose brick tower rises far above the flat countryside and can be seen from a long way off. Close by lies the beguinage, a quiet enclosed courtyard of small houses that belongs to the group of Flemish beguinages listed by UNESCO. On paper it reads as a compact block that faces inward, away from the street.
Around the town, the network of lanes and drainage ditches is typical of the Kempen landscape, and the area is widely known for growing strawberries. A Hoogstraten map poster captures the contrast between a single ceremonial axis and the patient geometry of the fields around it. The fine lines suit a calm wall and reward a closer look.

Enclosed beguinage
The beguinage appears as a closed rectangle of small plots around a green. This UNESCO-listed group of houses faces inward, which sets it apart from the open streets beside it.
Kempen field pattern
Outside the centre, narrow lanes and ditches divide the land into long, regular parcels. This is the working landscape of market gardens and strawberry farms that surrounds the town.

People hang Hoogstraten on the wall because they grew up along that main street, married in the church or spent summers picking strawberries nearby. The map keeps the town's clear, almost diagrammatic shape, so even guests who have never been there can take it in at a glance.
