Injibara is the administrative centre of the Awi Zone in Amhara, set on the high plateau south-west of Lake Tana. From above, it is a town still growing: an older core along the main road, newer blocks laid out around it, and farm tracks reaching out across the gentle rise and fall of the highlands.
