Gorutuba River
The river runs near the town and supports the irrigation that shapes the landscape. Its winding line contrasts with the straight edges of the fields.

Janaúba Map Poster & Print
Janaúba lies in the semi-arid north of Minas Gerais, in the valley of the Gorutuba River. The region's natural landscape is dry scrub, but irrigation has changed large parts of it. On a map, the town's regular grid of streets is surrounded by the geometric patchwork of cultivated land, crossed by canals and rural roads.
The area is known as one of Brazil's important banana-growing regions, supported by irrigation projects that draw on the local rivers and reservoirs. The town itself is organised and straightforward. Its streets form fairly regular blocks, and main roads connect it to Montes Claros and other towns of the north of Minas.
A Janaúba map poster shows a town and its landscape working together: the river, the ordered grid of streets and the large, precise shapes of irrigated fields. It is a clean composition with a clear sense of place, especially in Sand or Paper.

Regular street grid
Janaúba's centre follows a fairly orderly block pattern, which prints as a crisp, even texture at the heart of the poster.
Irrigated fields
Large, geometric plots of farmland surround the town. Their neat divisions read clearly even at smaller print sizes.
