Jiang’an is a county of Yibin, in the south of Sichuan province, where the Yangtze flows east toward Luzhou and Chongqing. From above, the county town stretches along the river. Its streets follow the curve of the bank and climb a short way into the hills behind. The water forms a broad, strong edge across the map, with farmland and wooded slopes filling the land around the town.
