Oka river
The river curves past the town in a broad band, with its floodplain opening on the far side and giving the print a large, calm area of space.

Kasimov Map Poster & Print
Kasimov is a historic town in Ryazan Oblast, on the Oka river. From the fifteenth to the seventeenth century it was the centre of the Qasim Khanate, a Tatar principality under the authority of Moscow, and that history is still visible in its architecture. On the map the town spreads along the high bank above the river, with the Oka curving broadly past it.
Its centre keeps the pattern of an old Russian merchant town, with a main square, trading rows and streets running down toward the water. Among its landmarks are a mosque with a stone minaret and the mausoleum of a Tatar khan, both reminders of the khanate period, standing alongside Orthodox churches and merchant houses from later centuries.
A Kasimov map poster traces the relationship between a river town and its landscape. The Oka and its floodplain fill part of the frame, and the older streets meet the irregular edge of the high bank. For anyone who knows Kasimov, the map presents a familiar place with unusual clarity, stripped down to its essential lines.

Merchant centre
Around the central square, the historic streets and trading rows form a compact core that reflects Kasimov's long past as a market town on the river.
High bank
The town sits above the river on a raised bank, and streets that descend toward the water give the map a strong sense of direction and slope.
