Lahān sits on the flat Terai plain of Madhesh Province in southeastern Nepal. From above, the town is organised around one strong line: the East-West Highway, which crosses the plain here and gathers shops, workshops and bus stops along its edges. Side lanes branch off it at irregular angles and quickly give way to fields.
The ground is low and almost level, so the map shows few contours to shape the streets. Instead, the pattern comes from irrigation channels, field boundaries and small watercourses running south toward the Indian border.
