Ozar lies in Nashik district, Maharashtra, on flat farmland north-east of the city of Nashik. From above, it is a compact settlement of irregular lanes and newer residential blocks. Around it spreads a patchwork of fields and vineyards across the plain, broken up by rural roads and small watercourses.
What makes the map distinctive is the aviation complex next door. A long runway and a large fenced campus of hangars, workshops and staff housing sit beside the town. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has run an aircraft manufacturing division at Ozar since the 1960s.
