Donets Ridge terrain
The town sits among hills and valleys, and the street pattern bends and breaks around them, so the map is more varied than a flat grid.

Rovenky Map Poster & Print
Rovenky lies in the south of Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, in the hills of the Donets Ridge. Like many towns in the Donbas, it grew around coal mining, and the industry shaped both its economy and its layout. The landscape is rolling steppe cut by small valleys, and the town spreads across this uneven ground instead of following a single grid.
From above, the older centre shows a fairly regular street pattern, while residential districts and former mine settlements sit around it in separate clusters. Railway lines, industrial sites and the conical spoil heaps typical of the region mark the outskirts. Valleys and gullies break up the built-up area into distinct parts.
A Rovenky map poster records the mining town's structure: a centre, surrounding settlements and the traces of industry in between. The hilly terrain gives the streets a varied, bending pattern. For people with family ties to the Donbas, the map shows a place whose shape comes directly from the work that built it.

Mining settlements
Separate clusters of housing grew up around mines on the outskirts and still appear as distinct pockets around the centre.
Industrial traces
Rail lines, industrial sites and spoil heaps mark the edges of town, a record of the coal industry that shaped Rovenky.

Many people from Rovenky now live far from it, and a map of the town is a way to keep its streets and hills close. It makes a quiet, personal piece for anyone connected to the Donbas.
