Salgado is a small municipality in the interior of Sergipe, the smallest state in Brazil, a short distance inland from the coast. The town itself is compact: a grid of streets around a central core, with houses thinning out quickly into farmland. On the map it appears as a concentrated patch of linework surrounded by open country and a handful of connecting roads.
The name is the Portuguese word for salty, a common place name in Brazil. There is nothing monumental about the plan.
