Aarsâl Map Poster & Print
Aarsâl lies in the northeast of Lebanon's Beqaa Valley, high on the western flanks of the Anti-Lebanon mountains near the Syrian border. The land is dry and rocky. On a map the town spreads loosely over sloping ground, and its streets follow the natural shape of the uplands.
The surrounding country is largely open and stony, used for orchards, grazing and stone quarrying, which has long been part of the local economy. In recent years the town also received large numbers of refugees from Syria, and settlements grew around its edges.
An Aarsâl map poster shows a town defined by its high, open setting. There is a loose central network of streets, and roads and tracks disappear into the mountains. It is a quiet, spacious composition that reflects the scale of the landscape more than the density of the town.
