关于地图
Al Fashn Map Poster & Print
Al Fashn is a town in Beni Suweif Governorate in Middle Egypt, on the west side of the Nile valley. Its map is shaped by the geography of the valley: a narrow band of cultivated land between the river and the desert, where towns tend to sit close together and every road stays within reach of water.
From above, the older part of town is a dense tangle of short, irregular streets. More regular blocks have been added along the main roads and the railway that runs north to south through the valley. Around the built-up area the land breaks into small field plots cut by irrigation canals, and on paper these look like fine, repeated lines.
An Al Fashn map poster shows a landscape that has been farmed along the Nile for thousands of years, drawn at the scale of one town. It is a quiet image: water, fields and houses in a proportion that has changed little in outline, even as the town has grown.

Irrigation canals
Canals and channels divide the surrounding farmland into narrow plots. They form a delicate linear pattern around the denser urban core.
Valley railway
The main line through Middle Egypt passes along the town, a straight line linking it to the other Nile towns to the north and south.
