关于地图
Al Jawf Map Poster & Print
Al Jawf is the principal town of the Kufra oasis in south-eastern Libya, deep in the Sahara and hundreds of kilometres from the Mediterranean coast. From above, it is a compact settlement of streets and walled compounds surrounded by an almost empty expanse of sand and rock, with palm groves and farmland marking where groundwater reaches the surface.
Kufra is known well beyond Libya for the large circular fields around the oasis, irrigated by centre-pivot systems drawing on ancient groundwater and clearly visible in satellite images. The oasis has also long been a crossroads for caravan routes across the eastern Sahara, and roads still lead out from here in long straight lines toward the north and the distant borders.
An Al Jawf map poster is one of the most minimal compositions possible: a tight cluster of streets, a scattering of cultivated patches and wide open desert all around. That emptiness is the point. Printed in Sand or Paper, it takes on an almost abstract quality, while Noir turns the desert into a deep, still field.

Irrigation circles
Around the oasis, circular fields watered by pivot irrigation create perfect round shapes, an unusual and striking geometry for any map.
Desert roads
Long, straight roads leave the town across the Sahara, thin single lines stretching almost unbroken toward the far edges of the poster.

为什么选Al Jawf
一张有意义的地图
For people from Kufra and for those who have lived or worked in the Libyan desert, this map is a striking record of a place defined by distance and water. Its bold simplicity looks strong in a modern interior.
Add your own title and subtitle, perhaps a name or a year, and keep the coordinates line to mark the oasis precisely. Choose from five styles and order a matte print shipped from a partner nearby, or download the files for $9.
