关于地图
Al Mālikīyah Map Poster & Print
Al Mālikīyah, known in Kurdish as Dêrik, is a town in the far northeast of Syria, in Al-Hasakah Governorate, near the point where Syria, Turkey and Iraq meet. The Tigris River, which forms part of the border here, flows a short distance to the east. The land around the town is a broad, gently rolling plain.
From above, the town has a fairly regular grid of streets and blocks, with roads leading out across farmland toward the surrounding villages and the oil-producing area around Rmelan. Its population is mixed, including Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians and Armenians. The churches and mosques found across the town reflect that mix.
An Al Mālikīyah map poster shows a plains town in clear outline: a compact centre, orderly blocks, and the long lines of rural roads and field boundaries spreading into the open country of the Jazira. For people from Dêrik, whether they live nearby or far away, it is a precise image of home.

Rural roads
Straight roads leave the town across the plain toward villages and the Rmelan oil area, drawing long lines through otherwise open space.
Near the Tigris
A short distance to the east, the Tigris runs through the border area where three countries meet, which places the town clearly in its wider geography.
