关于地图
Alexeyevka Map Poster & Print
Alexeyevka lies in the east of Belgorod Oblast, on the Tikhaya Sosna, a tributary of the Don. The town stretches along the river valley, so its plan is longer than it is wide, with the river and its meadows running through the middle. Streets on either bank form partial grids that bend where the valley slopes rise toward the surrounding plateau.
The town holds a notable place in Russian agricultural history. In 1829 a local serf, Dmitry Bokaryov, is credited with producing sunflower oil on an industrial scale for the first time, and oil pressing has remained part of local industry ever since. Around the town the map shows wide fields crossed by shelter belts and ravines, typical of the black-earth region.
An Alexeyevka map poster reads as a portrait of a valley. The river's slow meanders give the image a soft central line, the streets gather on both sides, and the fields beyond create an even, quiet frame. At larger sizes the ravines cutting into the valley sides become visible as fine branching shapes.

Two-bank street plan
The neighbourhoods on each side of the river are laid out in loose grids that follow the valley. The bridges joining them stand out as short crossings.
Black-earth fields
Beyond the town, large rectangular fields and tree shelter belts spread across the plateau, broken by ravines that branch down toward the river.
