Altamont Map Poster & Print
Altamont is a census-designated place just southeast of Klamath Falls in southern Oregon. It lies on the broad, level floor of the Klamath Basin, and its map shows that flatness clearly: long straight roads, generous residential blocks and an orderly layout that fades gradually into agricultural fields on the outskirts.
Water shapes the area in a quieter way than it would in a river town. Irrigation canals of the Klamath Project run across the basin in long, gently curving lines, and they appear on the map as fine threads cutting through streets and fields. An Altamont map poster captures that interplay between the domestic grid and the engineered water network.
The wider setting is dramatic, with Upper Klamath Lake to the north and the volcanic peaks of the Cascades on the horizon, although the town itself sits on level ground.
