Planned layout
Sections of the town follow a deliberate, regular street pattern from the resettlement scheme. They stand out against the less formal settlements around it.

关于地图
Anchau Map Poster & Print
Anchau lies in Kaduna State, in the savanna of northern Nigeria. It is known for the Anchau Settlement Scheme of the 1930s, a colonial-era project against sleeping sickness. It combined clearing tsetse fly habitat along streams with resettling people in a newly planned town.
That history shows on the map. Parts of the town are more regular than the surrounding settlements, with a clearer street pattern than the organic lanes of older northern towns. Around it, open savanna and farmland stretch away, crossed by seasonal watercourses and roads leading to neighbouring communities.
An Anchau map poster records a town whose layout came from a public-health experiment. The planned streets, the open country and the streams that shaped the scheme make it a quietly unusual subject for the wall.

Seasonal streams
Watercourses cross the surrounding land. Their banks were central to the tsetse clearance work that shaped the town's founding.
Open savanna
Farmland and savanna surround Anchau on all sides, leaving wide quiet areas on the map around the compact town.

为什么选Anchau
一张有意义的地图
Anchau matters to the families who live there and to anyone interested in how towns get planned. A map poster shows the result of that planning simply and clearly.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand's warm tones suit the savanna setting especially well.
