Bāgluṅ Map Poster & Print
Bāgluṅ is the headquarters of Baglung District in Nepal's Gandaki Province, west of Pokhara. The town occupies a wide, fairly level terrace high above the Kali Gandaki River, and that setting defines its map: a compact network of streets on the flat ground, then an abrupt edge where the land falls away toward the river flowing far below.
The district is known across Nepal for its many suspension bridges, which carry footpaths over rivers and ravines between hillside villages. The river itself traces a winding line along the side of the town, and roads approach in tight switchbacks as they climb the slopes, giving the poster sharp, zigzag details at its margins.
Near the town centre stands the Kalika Bhagawati temple, an important place of worship for the region.
