关于地图
Bamusso Map Poster & Print
Bamusso lies in the Ndian division of Cameroon's South-West Region, on the low coast near the border with Nigeria. This is a landscape of estuaries and mangrove swamps where rivers reach the Gulf of Guinea through a maze of creeks. On the map, water takes up as much space as land.
The settlement is spread along the waterways rather than laid out as a grid. Boats are an important way of getting around, and the paths and lanes on land are short, linking houses, landing places and the edge of the forest. Fishing has long been central to life in this part of the coast.
A Bamusso map poster shows a place where the shoreline is hard to draw. In black and white, the branching creeks and mangrove islands form an intricate pattern, with the settlement set among them. It is an unusual map, shaped almost entirely by water.

Estuary coast
Bamusso sits on the low coast where rivers meet the Gulf of Guinea, with a shoreline broken into channels and islands.
Waterside settlement
Houses and landings follow the waterways, so the settlement stretches along creeks instead of spreading out in blocks.
