Roadside settlement
Houses and shops follow the main roads in long strips. The built-up area appears as ribbons of fine detail running through otherwise open land.

关于地图
Ban Mai Map Poster & Print
Ban Mai is a community in Songkhla province in southern Thailand, a region of flat coastal plain between the Gulf of Thailand and the large lagoon of Songkhla Lake. The name simply means new village in Thai, and many places across the country share it. On a map, this Ban Mai is a spread of roads and houses across low, open ground.
Settlement here tends to follow the roads. Houses, shops and temples line the main routes, and smaller lanes branch off into farmland, orchards and ponds. Rubber and rice are typical crops in the province, and the land between built-up strips often stays green and open. This gives the map an airy, linear pattern rather than a dense core.
A Ban Mai map poster records a place that matters to the people who live there, whatever the many other villages with the same name. The coordinates line and your own title make it unmistakable. In black and white, the roads and ponds across the flat land become a calm, balanced composition.

Branching lanes
Smaller lanes leave the main routes to reach homes, fields and plantations. They form a delicate branching pattern that fills the spaces of the map.
Flat coastal plain
The low, level ground of Songkhla province lets roads run straight for long distances. Ponds and fields add occasional irregular shapes to the pattern.

为什么选Ban Mai
一张有意义的地图
A map of Ban Mai is a personal object: a place called home, a family house or the village of a partner's parents. It suits people who have moved to Hat Yai, Bangkok or abroad and want something understated that still points precisely to where they come from.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to name exactly which Ban Mai you mean. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then download six print sizes for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
