Canal grid
Long, straight khlongs cross the district at regular intervals. They form a framework that is older than most of its roads.

关于地图
Bang Bo District Map Poster & Print
Bang Bo is a district in Samut Prakan Province, on the low-lying delta southeast of Bangkok. The land is almost perfectly flat and was organised long ago by water. On a map, straight khlongs, or canals, divide the district into long rectangles, and many of the plots between them are rectangular ponds used for fish and shrimp farming.
This gives Bang Bo a very different look from Bangkok's urban sprawl nearby. Instead of a dense street grid, the map shows parallel canals, farm roads along the waterways, and small settlements where routes meet. Toward the southern edge, the land approaches the mangroves and mudflats along the Gulf of Thailand.
A Bang Bo District map poster shows a landscape built on water management. The rectangular ponds form a regular pattern, and the canals run like ruled lines across the frame. The villages sit along them like beads on a string. It is an unusual, almost abstract map that rewards a slow look.

Fish and shrimp ponds
Rectangular ponds fill much of the land between canals. On the map they create a repeating pattern of blocks.
Settlements on the water
Houses and small communities line the canals and roads. Instead of forming compact towns, they follow the waterways in thin strips.

为什么选Bang Bo District
一张有意义的地图
The map appeals to people from Bang Bo and to anyone interested in how the Chao Phraya delta has been shaped by canals. Its geometry makes it look more like a graphic print than a road map.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, and five styles are available. Blueprint suits the canal geometry well. The $9 download includes six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files.
