Rail yard
Dozens of parallel tracks fan out in a long, dense bundle. It is the most striking graphic element on the Barstow map.

关于地图
Barstow Map Poster & Print
Barstow sits in the Mojave Desert roughly halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. From above, it is a crossroads town. Interstate 15 and Interstate 40 meet here, the old Route 66 runs through the middle as Main Street, and the railway spreads out into one of the largest classification yards in the western United States.
The Mojave River passes along the town. For most of the year its bed is dry and wide, and it appears on the map as a soft, braided band rather than a line of water. Around it, the streets form a grid that fades into desert lots, with open ground stretching toward low, bare mountains.
A Barstow map poster reads almost like a diagram of movement across the desert. It shows long straight highways, fanning rail sidings and a town arranged between them, while the empty land beyond gives the design plenty of room to breathe.

Route 66
The historic highway runs through town as Main Street. It is a familiar line to road-trip travellers crossing the Mojave.
Mojave River bed
The river is usually dry at the surface, so it shows as a broad, braided band. It softens the edge of an otherwise ruled plan.
