Ben Jerrar lies in southwestern Morocco in the Souss-Massa region, on the wide plain inland from the Atlantic coast near Agadir. The land is flat, so the town has spread easily. Recent residential blocks form regular grids that meet older lanes and agricultural parcels at their edges, and the join between the two is clear on the map.
The Souss plain is one of Morocco's main farming areas, known for citrus and early vegetables, and the towns around Agadir have grown quickly as people have moved into the region.
