Bois-Colombes Map Poster & Print
Bois-Colombes is a compact commune in Hauts-de-Seine, just beyond the Paris ring, and it covers under two square kilometres. It shares its borders with Colombes, Courbevoie, Asnières and La Garenne-Colombes, so the map shows a town without an obvious edge. Its streets run straight into those of its neighbours, and you only see the boundary on the administrative outline.
The commune is almost entirely residential. There are rows of stone apartment buildings, pavilions with small gardens, and short, orderly streets set around a central market area. Railway lines to Saint-Lazare cross the town, and the station gives it a quick link to the centre of Paris. The tracks cut clear diagonals through the otherwise even grain of blocks.
A Bois-Colombes map poster also recalls the town's industrial past. For much of the twentieth century it was home to a large Hispano-Suiza factory making aircraft engines, and the site has since been redeveloped. At poster scale the whole commune fits easily, dense and neatly divided.
