关于地图
Brakpan Map Poster & Print
Brakpan grew up on the gold reef of the East Rand around the turn of the twentieth century, and its layout still reflects that origin. The town centre is a regular grid of long, straight streets. Residential suburbs extend in similar blocks, and former mining land breaks the pattern with wide, open spaces.
The name is usually traced to a brackish pan in the area, and water still marks the map. Shallow pans and small dams are scattered around the town, their rounded shapes contrasting with the grid. Tailings dams and mine dumps, some reworked or removed, leave large geometric footprints on the landscape.
Today Brakpan is part of the Ekurhuleni metropolitan municipality, connected to Benoni, Springs and Boksburg by main roads and rail. A Brakpan map poster shows a working town from above, with its tidy grid, scattered water and the marks left by a century of mining.

Pans and dams
Small lakes and pans dot the surrounding area and give the map a scattering of soft, rounded shapes, echoing the brackish pan behind the town's name.
Mining footprint
Large open areas and the regular outlines of old tailings sites mark where gold mining once dominated. They leave visible gaps and edges in the town's layout.

为什么选Brakpan
一张有意义的地图
For East Rand families and former residents, Brakpan is a specific, personal place rather than just one part of Gauteng. Add a surname, a school year or a street name in the title and subtitle, and set the coordinates to your old address.
Noir suits the town's industrial character, Sand and Paper add warmth, and Classic black & white or Blueprint keep things sharp. Get HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame from a print partner near you.
