Samara River
The river loops past the town with oxbows and side channels, a meandering line that softens the edges of the regular grid of streets.

关于地图
Buzuluk Map Poster & Print
Buzuluk lies in the west of Orenburg Oblast, on the Samara River near its confluence with the Buzuluk River. The map shows a town laid out on a mostly regular grid of long streets, bordered by winding river channels, oxbows and floodplain meadows. Railway lines cross the landscape, and the fields of the open steppe stretch away beyond.
The town began in 1736 as a fortress on the frontier of the Russian Empire. During the Second World War, the first Czechoslovak military unit in the Soviet Union was formed here, a history remembered in both countries. Beyond the town lies the Buzuluk Pine Forest, a large, isolated woodland on the edge of the steppe that is now a national park.
A Buzuluk map poster contrasts the straight lines of the town grid with the soft, looping shapes of the rivers, while the edge of the forest adds a sense of depth. It is a composition that tells the story of a frontier town set between water, woodland and steppe.

Town grid
Long, parallel streets form a largely regular plan across the centre, a clear and orderly pattern that fills the heart of the print.
Buzuluk Pine Forest
The large pine forest beyond the town, protected as a national park, appears as a broad, quiet area where the road network falls away.
