Canela Map Poster & Print
Canela sits on the high plateau of the Serra Gaúcha in southern Brazil, beside its neighbour Gramado. On the map, the town centre forms a compact grid on fairly level ground, and the surrounding area breaks up into forested valleys and steep drops where rivers have cut into the plateau.
North of the centre, the Caracol stream plunges over the Cascata do Caracol, a tall waterfall inside a state park. It gives the map a clear green area crossed by paths. Roads leading out of town follow ridges and curves, linking Canela with Gramado and the smaller settlements in the hills.
In the centre stands the Catedral de Pedra, a stone church whose tower is the town's main landmark. A Canela map poster sets that small, orderly core against a wilder landscape, and the contrast between the grid and the canyons works especially well in the Noir and Paper styles.
