Carolina Map Poster & Print
Carolina lies on the northeastern coast of Puerto Rico, directly east of San Juan. Its map runs from the Atlantic shore at Isla Verde, lined with hotels and apartment towers, across the long runways of Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and the dense suburban neighbourhoods behind them, then south into rising, wooded hills well away from the coast.
The island's main international airport lies within Carolina's borders, so the municipality is the first place many visitors see from the air. Carolina is also the birthplace of baseball player Roberto Clemente, and it is known by the nickname Tierra de Gigantes, the Land of Giants, which the city links in part to Clemente.

Toward the east, lagoons and mangrove channels mark the transition toward Loíza. They add irregular, organic shapes to the coastal part of the composition.
